My first blog post!

April 23, 2018

Hi and welcome to my blog. I am Louise Uys. I am a South African living in Grenoble, France with my 3 busy boys aged 4, 5 and 7 and my rugby-player-husband. Together we are on a adventure of discovering what and how to raise our boys and having fun while doing it, adapting to a new country and figuring out life and our purpose.

For the last year I have wanted to start a blog, but fear always kept me back. Fear can be our greatest enemy but sometimes we just need to step out and say I am taking this step of faith, if it works great if it doesn’t well then I will keep on trying.

In the last few months I have found myself repeating this one sentence over and over to our oldest son: If you want to try something new you have to keep on practicing to succeed. There is no point in trying something new and giving up the moment you fail.

The 4 Uys men in Grenoble, France

My goal with this blog is to share our adventures – wherever it may be. It is to share how I stay sane with 4 men in the house, because who knows how I manage to keep a straight face and calm tone when I have wiped the toilet seat for the 10th time by 11 am. It is to share how I am constantly seeking more of God and his guidance and wisdom in my life, whether it is how to love my husband more and to have more grace (that I often fail at) and to share everything beautiful that can be found in the simple things in life, from a beautiful flower, to a old door, to just a stroll in the park on a sunday afternoon. This blog is my blog about Une Nouvelle Aventure (a new adventure) that can be found every single day in every thing we do.

Moving from one country to the next has its perks and challenges and here I will share about them. The biggest joy is knowing that no matter where in the world we are living as long as our little family is together then my heart is full.

So come and join me in my parenting journey, and enjoy the adventure.

Regards

So excited for you. A very inspiring thing to do and great for you to keep a “diary” to look back on one day when your kids are out the house (for them too)
